Experienced Professor of Economics Joseph Petry

A graduate of a Big 10 University, Joseph Petry holds a bachelor of science and a Ph.D. in economics. For more than 18 years, Dr. Joseph “Joe” Petry served as a clinical professor of economics and finance in the university’s College of Business and Liberal Arts & Sciences, teaching graduate MBA and undergraduate courses in statistics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics.

As part of his educational pedagogy, Dr. Petry has explored concepts such as a flipped classroom, which involves students watching a lecture online before class, then meeting in person to participate in a dynamic hands-on activity. As students become increasingly dependent on smartphones, the flipped classroom facilitates creative engagement with learning materials.

Dr. Petry worked with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis to organize a competitive analytical challenge among thousands of students from Illinois and the University of Missouri. Since 2015, Dr. Petry has served as a business advisor and financial consultant, partnering with clients to build holistic value creation strategies.

An accomplished financial consultant with extensive experience, Joe enjoys partnering with clients in value creation strategy and implementation.
